A round of golf at Minthis Hills

An active golf club with plenty of opportunities for competitive golf is very important for players and Cyprus golf alike and at Minthis Hills (www.minthishills.com), we hold regular competitions.  Yesterday, 19^th September was a Texas Scramble Competition and we are very pleased to announce the winners:

A Texas Scramble is a variation of a scramble, which involves teams of 4 people playing four balls, with each shot coming from the same spot.  The best of the four drives is chosen from which the four team members then hit from that spot.  With a Texas Scramble, at least four drives of each member of the team must be used during the course of the round, allowing even the weakest driver on the team to play a key role.

Minthis Hills is well on the way to becoming a top flight golf course with all the upgrades that have been done and the golf properties that are available have already been awarded No 1 in Europe for architecture.  These designs by Woods Bagot,stand out from the crowd and have all the small luxurious touches you would expect from what is a very exclusive resort.

Cyprus property is gaining new momentum and Minthis Hills (www.minthishills.com) is making good progress.  The golf course has undergone many improvements and we hope it is making the course even more enjoyable to play.  Its height of 560m above sea level also makes it more pleasant during the Summer months and sometimes it feels like you could quite literally touch the sky.

This Sunday, competitive golf took place again at Minthis Hills (www.minthishills.org) in the form of a Greensomes competition.  Also known as Scotch Foursomes, this format has two teams of two with both players on a team teeing off.  The best of the two tee balls is chosen and then that ball is played alternately into the hole.

Congratulations!

The Lions Charity Cyprus Golf competition took place at the weekend at Minthis Hills (www.minthishills.org) and the sole junior to enter, Matthew Curd, proved that golf is a sport that can be played by all ages.  With a 30 handicap, Matthew came first in terms of best score decided on a “Back Nine” basis.

It was a fun day for everyone, with a putting competition taking place on the practice green by the soon to be completed clubhouse.

St Patricks Day golf tournament at Minthis Hills

On the 17^th March, Minthis Hills Golf Club held its annual St Patrick’s Day competition (www.minthishills.org).

This year there were 84 entrants, from both Minthis Hills and other clubs, surpassing all previous years.  Always good “craic”, this year was no exception.  Green was the colour of the day and a few St Patrick’s Day party hats were in attendance.

The field was highly competitive, but well natured and the jokes were flying, especially after a refuel at the 10^th hole. As sponsors, Pafilia and Minthis Hills were very proud to sponsor this event and that everyone enjoyed it so much.  We believe, itIt is an excellent way to celebrate St Patrick’s Day and we look forward to next year’s tournament.
